There are 13 statutory public holidays in 2022.
Because some holidays fall on Saturdays, employers must give employees another day off under the Act of 18 January 1951 on public holidays and the Labour Code Act of 26 June 1974. In 2021 this applied to 1 May and 25 December.
In 2022, holidays falling on weekends are New Year's Day (1 January, Saturday), Labour Day (1 May, Sunday), Pentecost (5 June, Sunday), and Christmas Day (25 December, Sunday). However, we can expect an alternative day off from the employer only for 1 January.
