Minimum health insurance contribution in 2025: details of the change
Under the new regulations, the minimum health insurance contribution from January 2025 will be PLN 314.96, a significant decrease from the PLN 381.78 applicable in 2024. That is a difference of PLN 66.82 per month, giving businesses annual savings of PLN 801.84.
The change follows a new method of calculating the minimum health insurance contribution. Previously, the full minimum wage was the calculation base (PLN 4,242 in 2024). From 2025, the base is 75% of the national minimum wage, which amounts to PLN 4,666 in 2025.
The current formula is:PLN 314.96 = 9% × (75% × PLN 4,666)
Are there any limitations to the change?
The reduction applies only to business owners who pay the minimum health insurance contribution. For businesses with higher incomes, contributions continue to be calculated in proportion to income or revenue, which means the change does not apply to them.
