Last month, on January 16, TaxCoach had the opportunity to take part in a meeting organised by the Accountants Association in Poland (SKwP). The main topic of the meeting was the planned introduction of the National e-Invoicing System (KSeF) from January 1, 2024.
During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to the introduction of mandatory structured invoices under KSeF. The discussion covered the advantages and disadvantages of the new system, its potential benefits, implementation challenges and various possible risks.
The consultations were also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Administration Chamber in Poznań, as well as representatives of SKwP, including: Secretary Leszek Lewandowicz and President of the Management Board Prof. Wiktor Gabrusewicz.
The discussions concerning KSeF were very intensive, and our CEO & Co-Founder, Miłosz Baranowski, also had the opportunity to take the floor and present his views on behalf of both himself and the organisation. Following the meeting, our team concluded that the National e-Invoicing System will certainly make it easier for accounting firms to enter invoices into ERP accounting systems. At the same time, we are already convinced that its implementation will require considerable effort not only from tax authorities and accounting firms, but also from entrepreneurs, who will need to adapt to the new requirements.
Under the system, all invoices are to be issued in a structured format and submitted directly to KSeF, which in many cases may improve the flow of information between accounting firms and their clients. However, it may also create difficulties for a group of entrepreneurs who are less familiar with digital tools, an issue highlighted by TaxCoach. In addition, the new system may increase the workload of accounting firms, particularly in helping businesses that previously issued invoices manually on paper to prepare invoices through the new platform.
We hope to see more initiatives and consultations of this kind in the future.
