A doctor, hairdresser, physiotherapist, car mechanic, shopkeeper, beautician ... The list of people who should be in the BDO register by the end of 2019 is long. Not everyone knows about it, and the punishments are draconian.

From January 1, 2020, a significant group of entrepreneurs will have to keep records and reporting of waste. Therefore, by the end of the year, they should enter the electronic BDO Register.

What is the BDO Registry?

The BDO Register is a Register of entities introducing products, packaged products and managing waste. It is an integral part of the database on products, packaging and waste management, the so-called BDO. BDO enables the collection and management of information related to waste management and is to ensure electronic implementation of registration, recording and reporting obligations.

 

Entrepreneurs entered into the BDO Register will keep there - from January 1, 2020, electronic records and reporting of waste.

Obligation also for sole proprietorships.

The obligation applies not only to large companies, but also to sole proprietors who produce garbage that is not ordinary municipal waste.

 

Until now, entrepreneurs have signed contracts for their collection, from 2020 they will have to keep records of waste and issue transfer cards in the electronic BDO system.

Huge penalties

Entrepreneurs who fail to complete the formalities face an administrative penalty of 5,000. up to a million zlotys. In addition, no one will collect waste from them.

Who must submit an application for entry in the BDO Register

The obligation to enter in the Register-BDO covers not only entities that generate waste and keep records of this waste, but also introducing packaged products, tires, lubricating oils, vehicles, batteries or accumulators, electrical and electronic equipment, manufacturers and importers into the territory of the country. and intra-Community buyers of packaging.

Here is a list of examples of entities that are required to be entered in the BDO Register:

  • grocery stores
  • large-format stores
  • construction and renovation companies
  • doctors offices
  • dental offices
  • beauty salons
  • hairdressing salons
  • producers of batteries and accumulators
  • vehicle manufacturers
  • packaging producers
  • manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment
  • importers introducing packaged products
  • farmers over 75 ha of land
  • car repair shops
  • craft workshops
  • manufacturing plants
  • conducting professional activity in the field of waste transport.

How to get an entry in the BDO Register?

If you want to submit an application for entry in the register in person or by letter, use the form available on the biznes.gov.pl website. Also check what documents you need to attach. You can also settle the matter online via this website.

Registration fee

Pay the registration fee to the bank account of the competent Marshal's Office, in the amount of:

  • PLN 100 - if you are a microentrepreneur
  • PLN 300 - if you are not a microentrepreneur

The registration fee applies to entrepreneurs:

  • equipment suppliers and authorized representatives
  • introducing batteries or accumulators
  • introducing vehicles
  • manufacturers, importers and intra-Community buyers of packaging
  • products in packaging that introduce into the territory of the country
  • placing tires on the territory of the country
  • introducing lubricating oils into the territory of the country

If you conduct activities subject to entry in the BDO Register in more than one scope - you are required to pay one, the highest registration fee.
